A Framework for Recovering Waste Heat Energy from Food Processing Effluent

چکیده
Effluent water from food processing retains considerable heat energy after emission treatment systems. Heat recovery technologies that may be appropriate for implementation in the industry have been widely explored, and selection of most suitable methodologies has pursued. A four-stage framework is introduced this paper to evaluate potential recoverability waste along with acceptor streams. The systematic approach utilizes thermal temporal compatibility tools cost–benefit analyses determine ideal heat-recovery equipment effluent. applicability demonstrated through an industrial case study undertaken a vegetable canning facility. Based on findings, yields efficient optimized reducing total demand

Competition of different methods for recovering energy from waste.
Waste-to-energy (WtE) facilities have been established worldwide as a sustainable method for the disposal of residual waste. In the present study the following competing WtE systems were compared: (1) municipal solid waste incinerators (MSWIs) with energy recovery; (2) co-incineration of waste in old lignite or coal-fired power plants; (3) substitute [refuse-derived fuel (RDF)] incinerators wit...
متن کاملThe food-energy-water nexus: A framework for sustainable development modeling
Energy, water, and food are facing present and future challenges triggered by climate change, population growth, human behavior, and economics. Management strategies for energy, water, and food are possible through policies, technology, and related education. However, the links between resources (energy, water, and food) and impacting factors (population increase, human behavior, economics, and...
متن کاملFood waste and food processing waste for biohydrogen production: a review.
Food waste and food processing wastes which are abundant in nature and rich in carbon content can be attractive renewable substrates for sustainable biohydrogen production due to wide economic prospects in industries. Many studies utilizing common food wastes such as dining hall or restaurant waste and wastes generated from food processing industries have shown good percentages of hydrogen in g...
متن کاملCotton Textile Processing: Waste Generation and Effluent Treatment
This review discusses cotton textile processing and methods of treating effluent in the textile industry. Several countries, including India, have introduced strict ecological standards for textile industries. With more stringent controls expected in the future, it is essential that control measures be implemented to minimize effluent problems. Industrial textile processing comprises pretreatme...
متن کاملEnergy-saving method for technogenic waste processing
Dumps of a mining-metallurgical complex of post-Soviet Republics have accumulated a huge amount of technogenic waste products. Out of them, Kazakhstan alone has preserved about 20 billion tons. In the field of technogenic waste treatment, there is still no technical solution that leads it to be a profitable process. Recent global trends prompted scientists to focus on developing energy-saving a...
